Historical San Bernardino

The circuit shows the tourist attractions of the historic center of San Bernardino and its charming Lake Ypacaraí, which inspired a well-known Guarania in the country played by Demetrio Ortiz.

The tour begins in the Plaza Gral. Bernardino Caballero, site where the first European immigrants held their meetings. It was named emblem of the city thanks to the discovery of a fig tree that until now remains an attraction and is called «the tree of life.» Then we visit the Church of Our Lady of Asuncion, patron saint of the city, where the carved mural of the Via Crucis is located. Then climb the steps of the Virgen Aparecida to get to appreciate the magnificent view of the lake and its surroundings.

Aregua Tour

Areguá was declared ‘Creative City’ by UNESCO.
